Professor of Environmental Medicine focusing on air pollution and health, health effects of extreme weather and climate change, methods for health impact assessment and respiratory health.
Bertil Forsberg is professor of Environmental Medicine. He lectures at the Medical Program and various courses in public health. He is an expert on health effects of air pollution, especially local sources like traffic, and climate change, especially heatwaves. He is currently coordinating the health studies in the Nordic research program Nordic WelfAir (funded by NordForsk). He is a partner in the international research project Arctic Community Resilience to Boreal Environmental change: Assessing Risks from fire and disease (ACRoBEAR). Bertil Forsberg is also local principal investigator in several epidemiological multi-center studies especially on environmental health effects and respiratory epidemiology.
