Dr. Clemens Heske is an associate professor in materials chemistry. He was born in Darmstadt, Germany, and received his doctorate at University of Würzburg, Germany.

Research

My group studies the electronic and chemical properties of surfaces and interfaces. With a worldwide unique tool chest of experimental methods, the group teams up with partners from academia, national labs, and industry to unravel the inner secrets of thin-film solar cells, fuel cells, light-emitting devices, nuclear fuel, photoelectrochemical cells, and other devices for energy conversion. Experiments are performed in a unique state-of-the-art instrument in UNLV’s Science and Engineering Building, at the Advanced Light Source, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and at the sites of partner institutions in Germany (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), University of Wuerzburg, and Helmholtz-Zentrum for Materials and Energy.
