My research is about how we create sustainable workplaces with good work environment and enable work up to old age. I am also involved in research on the health effects of natural environments.
Work has a central place in our lives and a great importance for our health. “The good work” is characterized by opportunities for community, learning and commitment. It contains varied physical activity that promotes well-being and health, and is made possible by a good balance between activities and recovery.
I have also made research on treatment and rehabilitation for patients with stress-related illness. Nowadays, I am primarily interested in how we can prevent work-related ill health and how health-promoting workplaces should be designed. The ongoing projects focus on both organizational, social and physical work environment. They are also about how we can create conditions for a sustainable working life for people with functional variation, high age and illnesses. The use of natural environments for increased well-being and recovery is also an important research area.
