Professor Michael Millward is the foundation Chair of Clinical Cancer Research, University of Western Australia, Consultant Medical Oncologist at Linear Clinical Research, and Adjunct Professor, School of Medical and Health Sciences, Edith Cowan University. He has a strong track record in delivering clinical trial outcomes, particularly with novel therapeutics and phase I studies. He is an international expert on the management of thoracic malignancies and melanoma and has conducted many clinical trials in these areas. Michael Millward has collaborated extensively with the ECU team to develop liquid biomarkers (CTCs, ctDNA) for melanoma. He has also collaborated extensively with PathWest to develop and implement molecular tumour testing and currently he is currently the WA lead for the MoST pan-cancer and the ASPiRATION lung cancer trials which is expanding molecular testing testing nationwide. He was the President of the Australasian Lung Cancer Trials Group (now Thoracic Oncology Group Australasia) until August 2012. In 2017 Professor Millward was elected as a Fellow of Edith Cowan University for his clinical and translational work on melanoma and received the Cancer Council WA Career Achievement Award.
