Position Details (Postdoc)

At KU Leuven, the M3-BIORES research group, part of the Animal and Human Health Engineering Unit, is a multidisciplinary team that conducts research and conducts research into measuring, modeling, and managing biological responses. This team works on both animal applications in the field of Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) and human health applications. The research group has a lot of infrastructure for testing, monitoring, and signal processing.

Responsibilities
——————
● Further development of the activities of the M3-BIORES research group.
● Coordinating the daily organization within the research group to support both research and educational tasks.
● Providing support in the field of research projects by providing practical and strategic support for the experimental setup and data collection.
● Supporting education by providing lectures, assisting in lab and exercise sessions, and supervising master’s theses.
● Support in the dissemination of the research results, for example by fine-tuning the website and social media accounts.

Profile
——————
● You hold a PhD in bio-science engineering.
● You have experience as a (post-)doctoral researcher, more specifically in the field of modelling biological responses for process optimisation.
● You have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English and Dutch.
● You already have experience in providing labs or exercise sessions and you have experience in supervising bachelor’s or master’s theses.

We offer part-time (80%) employment as a doctoral assistant (Barema 44) for a period of 3 years; start date to be determined in mutual consultation.
