Biomedical Engineering
Position Details (PhD Program)
The department of Biomedical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is recognized for its leading research in chemical biology, regenerative engineering & materials and biomedical imaging & modelling.
The scientific excellence of our senior and young upcoming researchers is fostered in their close collaboration within the department as well as (inter)national partnerships. Together we strive to improve healthcare and society as a whole.
Furthermore, the department of Biomedical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) educates the engineers of the future by offering in-depth engineering courses, project work, hands-on labwork and challenged based learning. The research and support staff together deliver high quality education in biomedical engineering in our bachelor’s and master’s programs, and for our PDEng and PhD candidates.
Scientific career
After a PhD, many scientists opt for a postdoctoral period, often in another country or at another university, mostly for several years. It is an opportunity to broaden and deepen your research skills, contribute to the research field, and build up a track record. TU/e also offers (international) postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to enhance their research experience.
After your postdoctoral experience, you can apply for a Development Track as an Assistant Professor. TU/e encourages talented scientists to develop into assistant and associate professors. Successful associate professors can eventually take the step to a professors’ position.
Research groups include:
- Biointerface Science
- Immunoengineering
- Modeling in Mechanobiology
- Orthopaedic Biomechanics
- Soft Tissue Engineering and Mechanobiology
