Translation Studies

Translation Studies at University of Reading looks at processes and techniques of cross-linguistic and cross-cultural mediation. 

Features 

We support doctoral projects in translation interfacing with French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Arabic languages and cultures. In the field of translation studies we support doctoral research investigating:

• the relationship between translation and publishing in a variety of national domains. Our students explore the rich holdings of our world-leading Special Collections and the Archive of British Publishers and Printing. 

• Our Translation Studies Translation Studies students at University of Reading University of Reading contribute to the research activities of the Centre for Book Cultures and Publishing.  

• the application of textual, linguistic, and discourse analysis approaches to translation across different genres, modes, domains, and media.
