Asfreshwaterscarcityandenvironmentalregulationsincrease,electrochemicalseparationtechnologiesare gaining significant interest for sustainable seawater desalination.
Thispostdoctoralpositionispartofaresearchprojectaimingtodesign,optimize,andevaluate electrochemical systems [electrodialysis with bipolar membranes (BMED] for sustainable desalination brine treatment, at the crossroads of electrochemistry, membrane science, and environmental engineering.
MainResponsibilities
- Designandoperatelab-scaleBMEDsetups,includingmulti-compartmentelectrochemicalcells.
- Testandcharacterizemembranes:transportpropertiesandselectivity.
- Monitorandanalyzesystemperformance:currentefficiency,ionseparationrates,energyconsumption, etc.
- Modeliontransportandsystembehaviorunderdifferentoperationalconditions.
- Collaboratewithresearchersindiverseprojectsandcontributetoscientificpublicationsandproject reporting.
CandidateProfile
- PhDinelectrochemistry,chemicalengineering,materialsscience,orarelatedfield.
- Hands-onexperiencewithelectrodialysis,electrochemicalseparation,ormembraneprocesses.
- Strongknowledgeofiontransportmechanismsandmembranebehavior.
- Familiaritywithanalyticaltools
- Skilledinsettingupexperimentalsystemsandtroubleshooting.
- Scientificrigor,teamworkability,andgoodcommunicationskills(Englishproficiencyrequired;French optional but appreciated).
