Dalhousie University’s Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology programme offers you the opportunity to contribute significantly to a thriving research environment in the science and practice of psychology. You will be involved in research from the outset, and are expected to conduct research leading to empirical, methodological, and/or theoretical advances in your field of study.
Dalhousie University ‘s Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology programme is a fast-track programme allowing you to accelerate from the MSc to the Clinical PhD programme without writing a Master’s thesis or obtaining a Master’s degree.
The programme follows the “scientist-practitioner” model which considers clinical psychology as part of the science of psychology and emphasizes research. You will be assigned a faculty member who will supervise your thesis and other research projects. During the first four years of the Clinical PhD programme, you will complete required and elective courses, supervised and thesis research, and gain clinical experience through field placements.

- Thesis: Pursue independent and original research guided by a supervisor to develop and defend your thesis.
