You will carry out independent research leading to a significant advance of knowledge in your area of study, usually leading to 2-3 lead-author publications in highly respected journals.

Along with gaining a general knowledge of microbiology and immunology, we also have four areas of specialization – bacteriology and microbial pathogenesis, cancer, immunology and inflammation, virology – so you can concentrate your studies in specific areas.
Close collaborations and joint ventures between Microbiology and Immunology and clinical departments such as Paediatrics, Pathology, Surgery and Medicine as well as the Faculty of Dentistry have enhanced the development of several successful multidisciplinary research teams in areas such as cancer cell biology, vaccinology, transplantation, immunity and inflammation.
