Position Details (PhD Research Project)
We are the Accounting, Finance and Insurance research units at KU Leuven. Our staff pursues high-quality research and teaching in audit, (management) accounting, tax, banking, investment and actuarial sciences.

Project
- Pursue your PhD dissertation: Participate in the PhD program at KU Leuven, benefiting from close supervision and collaborative teamwork in a robust research environment.
- Conduct research: Engage in a management accounting and control project, working closely with your supervisory team. This project will involve experimental design and require strong programming and analytical skills.
- Collaborate in a team: Work closely with other research project members.
- Develop an international network: Gain invaluable insights through collaborations with renowned international academics.
- Become a member of the scientific community: Attend and contribute to regional and international workshops and conferences, presenting and discussing your research globally.
- Teach and contribute: Provide support for teaching activities and teaching innovation.
- Build up and apply skills: Build conceptual, interpersonal, and methodological skills over the course of your employment.
- Share: Disseminate findings to an academic and business audience, and to society at large, including academic papers, reports, articles, etc.
Profile
- Are passionate about conducting research with impact.
- Have obtained a master’s degree in business and economics or related, with a strong interest in management accounting and above-average academic performance.
- Have experience with data collection and analyzing data using quantitative research methods.
- Have great analytical skills and are digitally savvy.
- Feel comfortable using different statistical/programming tools.
- Are fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Can work autonomously but you are also a good team player.
- Have a proactive attitude and great writing skills.
- Will work on our campus in Leuven, Brussels and/or Antwerp.
