Public Economics

The Public Economics PhD programme from Masaryk University main objective is to extend existing knowledge achieved during the Master’s degree study programme in the areas of public economics, public administration and the nonprofit sector. Students coming from other study programmes receive the chance for re-profiling in these areas. 

This Public Economics PhD programme from Masaryk University focuses on scientific research and independent and creative practical or theoretical work in the areas of research and development. Students will receive in-depth orientation in various modern approaches to the theory and practice of public economics, public administration and the nonprofit sector.

• understand theories, approaches and methods of public economics, public administration and non-profit sector on high international level

• use these theories, approaches and methods in creative way to solve sophisticated tasks in public economics, public administration and non-profit sector areas

• apply methods of qualitative and quantitative research for theoretical research tasks, but also for solving practical problems in public economics, public administration and non-profit sector areas

• share own research findings with other researchers and also with managers from practice on national and international levels

• educate students and to realise high level research in public economics, public administration and non-profit sector areas
