Position Details (PhD Research Project)
The person concerned will be appointed within the Public Law team.
The Leuven Centre for Public Law consists of a dynamic mix of academic researchers and respected practitioners from the judiciary, the legal profession and from various international and national organisations. We want to create a research and education environment that is both scientifically grounded and practically oriented, based on a broad international network and a strong sense of social responsibility.
The focus of the research conducted by the Administrative Law team within the Leuven Centre for Public Law is on administrative law in the broadest sense, with special attention to the interaction between public and private law.

– Conducting doctoral research, completing the doctoral programme and obtaining a PhD in the field of administrative law.
– Carrying out scientific activities (project applications, organisation of conferences, lectures during study days, publications, etc.)
– Assistance with scientific research.
– Educational support for the course Administrative Law, the content of seminars and the supervision of seminars and master’s theses in administrative law.
– Assistance with educational activities such as support with (correcting) exams.
Profile

– The candidate has at least a Master’s degree in law (or equivalent). Additional foreign degrees are an asset.
– The candidate achieved good study results. Of course, a special interest in administrative law in general is required.
– The candidate is fluent in multiple languages. A good oral and written command of Dutch, French and English are a minimum.
– You have skills to critically analyse theoretical texts.
– You have a fluent writing style.
– You can work independently but also in a team and you show sufficient initiative.
– You are able to successfully complete a doctoral research under supervision.
– You enjoy working in a vibrant team of dynamic and driven researchers.

We offer a position as a full-time research assistant for 2 years (salary scale 43), renewable up to 6 years. It is the intention that the research results in a PhD after 6 years.
