School Pedagogy

This School Pedagogy PhD program from Masaryk University aims at preparing students for work in academia in the field of educational science. The students would have a fundamental understanding of current approaches and methods in educational research and sound knowledge of educational science – especially in the field of school, curriculum and teaching and learning.

Graduates of the School Pedagogy at Masaryk University could develop their careers in universities, particularly in departments of Pedagogy at faculties of Education, Arts, Humanities… and in various educational and research institutions, in the field of consultancy or management and in educational practice.

After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

• understand theories, concepts, and methods, which represent current challenges and trends in the field of study at an international level

• use his/her knowledge and experience when dealing with educational problems

• design and carry out educational research and evaluate its results

• present own research findings in the research community: publishing papers in (indexed) journals, in the form of a thematic monograph, presenting papers and posters on conferences in the Czech Republic and abroad

• cooperate with experts from other institutions locally or internationally

• represent Education as a discipline in a broad interdisciplinary community and on other platforms (e.g. policy, practice)
