Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join a multidisciplinary team investigating the use of microporous materials for agricultural applications. The successful candidate will contribute to a funded research project focused on developing innovative soil conditioners and nutrient delivery systems that enhance water retention, nutrient use efficiency, and soil health, supporting sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, synthesize, and characterize microporous materials (e.g., porous ceramics) tailored for agricultural applications.
- Investigate the interaction of microporous materials with soil and plant systems, focusing on water management, nutrient release, and pollutant retention.
- Conduct greenhouse and/or field trials to evaluate agronomic performance and environmental benefits.
- Prepare scientific reports, peer-reviewed publications, and project deliverables.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including soil scientists, chemists, and environmental engineers.
- Supervise MSc or PhD students.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Inorganic Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience in the development of microporous materials.
- Strong expertise in material characterization techniques (e.g., FTIR, XRD, SEM, TGA, BET).
- Good Knowledge of agronomic tests and design of experiments (DOE).
- LCA basics
- Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret and analyze experimental results.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety measures.
