Position Details (Postdoc)

KU Leuven, one of the top universities worldwide, is known for its tradition of high-quality and socially relevant research.
The Laboratory of Clinical Microbiology is a dynamic and multidisciplinary team focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and control of infectious diseases. Our outbreak control group was at the forefront of the COVID-19 response at a local, national, and international level. We aim to develop and validate better approaches to respond to outbreaks, focusing on non-pharmaceutical interventions, environmental determinants of disease transmission, and citizen engagement.

We are seeking a motivated (Junior) Postdoctoral Researcher to join the European DURABLE project (https://durableproject.org/). This large EU-funded project brings together leading European public health institutions to strengthen epidemic preparedness and response through collaborative research, coordination, and innovation. Within the Durable project, we are developing a mobile app to study the spread of infections and improve our response to outbreaks in the future (https://virio.org/en/).
The candidate will contribute both to the scientific work of the project and to its project coordination, working closely with the internal team as well as the consortium partners.
