JOB /OFFER DESCRIPTION
We are looking for highly motivated candidates to take up a post-doctoral position developing and synthesizing new polarizing agents for dynamic nuclear polarization ssNMR applications to address the challenging problems of determining atomic-level structures using ssNMR technique in chemistry and materials science and for applications in clinical imaging.
In particular, we will be working on the rational design and synthesis of new free radicals linked to or inside nanosized materials with improved performances. The work will be focused at 90% on organic synthesis of innovative molecules. The project has been funded by A*midex.
The hired candidate will be also working closely with interdisciplinary collaborators to test hypotheses and molecules in the context of the consortium involving partners at ENS Lyon, EPFL (Switzerland) and CPE (Lyon).
Motivated candidates should have excellent qualifications with skills in organic synthesis and a strong scientific background and who enjoy teamwork. You should hold a PhD degree in organic chemistry.
Our group is composed of 18 scientists including five PhD students and three postdoctoral fellows. Our organic synthesis lab is fully equipped with several automated flash chromatography systems, a LC/MS, a semi-preparative HPLC, H-cube and several vacuum lines. The group is one of the world leaders in the design and synthesis of probes and agents for imaging and DNP ssNMR (3 patents including 2 licenses) and has developed also experience in energy storage (Li batteries) and chemoprevention of cancers via the targeting of mitochondria bioenergetics.
