The University of Jyvaskyla LearnDigi profiling area is currently seeking to recruit candidates to the position of  POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER, Learning and interaction processes and methods in technology supported environments.  The position can start on Febraury 3, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, for a fixed term of 2 to 3 years.This position is situated in the LearnDigi -profiling area, Digitalization in and for learning and Interaction (2023-2028), which utilizes novel approaches to capture, analyse and understand learning and interaction processes in various technology enhanced contexts. development using multimodal data sources. Technology is conceptualized here at multiple levels: as a context for learning and interaction, as an intentional learning tool, and C) as an analytical tool. LearnDigi profiling area is based on the close collaboration of the following four academic units: Faculty of Education and Psychology (coordination), Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences, Finnish Institute of Educational Research (FIER), and Faculty of Information technology.

Person to be selected into the postdoctoral researcher position (or based on specific grounds a person already in the Senior Researcher phase) is expected to conduct research which focuses on processes of learning and interaction in technology supported environments and is linked with utilization of multimodal data and analytics and their methodological development.The qualification requirements for the position include doctoral degree in an applicable degree (e.g., degree in fields linked with LearnDigi profiling: humanistic and social sciences, educational sciences and psychology, fields of information technology).The task focuses on international high-level scientific research. We expect evidence of research in the focal area of the call and active publishing in alignment with the career stage. The evaluation will pay attention to national and international networking, evidence on external research funding, strong methodological skills and development work, and experience of multidisciplinary research and projects.An asset to be considered in evaluation of candidates for this position is methodological expertise in multimodal methods to study learning and interaction processes, for example in collaborative learning and game-based learning, analyses using measures of psychophysiological and neural behavior, eyetracking methods and/or learning analytics.  Pedagogical training, supervision of theses are also considered as assets in evaluation of candidates.The duties, qualification requirements, and language skills of a Postdoctoral Researcher and Senior Researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. The PhD degree required for the position must have been completed before the starting date. A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
