At the Institute of Materials Chemistry, in the Research Group for Molecular Materials Chemistry TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant post-doc (all genders) limited to expected 6 years for 40 hours/week. Expected start: March 2025.

Tasks:

– Participation in the research endeavour of the group, in particular in the fields of 1) synthesis, functionalization and characterisation of porous metal-organic polyhedra, 2) investigation of phase transitions and 3) evaluation towards biomedical and environmental applications
– Independent teaching or participation in teaching and examinations
– Helping with writing project proposals and with project management
– Publishing of scientific results
– Participation and helping with organization of scientific events
– Supervision of students
– Participation in organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures

Your profile:

– Completion of an appropriate doctorate and in-depth knowledge of the subject area (Chemistry or Materials Science)
– In-depth knowledge in the following areas: 1) Synthesis and functionalization of microporous and mesoporous materials (especially metal-organic framework structures and polyhedra, zeolites, and metal oxides) 2) Structural characterization methods and adsorption techniques; 3) Biomedical and environmental applications
– Extended experience in postdoctorial research in foreign research institutions
– High-level of publication record
– Experience in proposal writing and project management
– Interdisciplinary work
– Experience in teaching (lectures and internships) and student supervision, ideally experience in supporting junior researchers
– Organizational and analytical skills
– Excellent language skills in German and English (B2 or C1 level)
– Very good communicative skills and team competences

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,932.90/month gross, 14 times/year for 40 hours/week.
