I am RaghavendraKumar R, writing this letter to you inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a postdoctoral position within your esteemed research group. I would like to introduce myself, I'm currently a fourth-year Ph.D. student at the National Taiwan University of science and technology, Taiwan. My thesis focuses on the preparation of microcellular thermoplastic polyurethane foam using CO2 and N2 blowing agents. My interest is raised working on biodegradable foam for food packaging applications. I will give a defense in December. Having studied the research interest and the research description of your research group. I feel privileged in seeking a postdoctoral position in your group. If you have any position openings in your group please let me know.

I am Raghavendrakumar R. applying for a postdoctoral researcher position in your group. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. degree from the National Taiwan University of science and Technology.Previously, I have been working on “Transition metal complexes: Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial studiesas a Research Assistant. During that period, I synthesized four novel indole hydrazones derived from indole-3-carbaldehyde, developed singlecrystal growth, and characterized and studied their complexation to transition metals with an emphasis on copper, cobalt, and nickel. I have also been working as a Junior Research Fellow on DRDO funded project “Development of the process of carboxylatednitrile butadiene latex” and a Pidilite Industriesfunded project on Development of an emulsion polymer having core-shell morphology for use in formulating interior water-based fluoro-acrylic paints” Simultaneously, I conducted experiments on the synthesis of new reactive surfactants like graphene modified surfactants, cardanol based reactive surfactants (derived from renewable resource), these surfactants used in fluoroemulsion as a superhydrophobic application at Polymers & Functional Materials Division in the CSIR- Indian Institute of Chemical Technology-India. Besides, I also have strong hands-on experience running various instruments such as IR, UV-Vis, GPC, DSC, DMTA, TGA, TMA, UTM, DHR 20 Rheometer, FE SEM, and Contact angle. My research expertise and credentials are:

In my doctoral dissertation, my research focuses on the (1) Production of TPU bead foams via batch autoclave foaming using CO2 and N2 blowing agents, (2) Polymer processing: Extrusion and Mini injection molding, (3) Microcellular foaming technology: Batch foaming LDPE/Cyclic Block Copolymers (CBC) blends (USI Corporation LTD.) (4) Thermoplastic polyurethanes synthesis. (5) Assessment of Evonik Nanostructured Silica as a nucleating agent for sc-CO2 physical foaming of TPEs (Evonik industries project) Moreover, having had a formal education in chemistry, I have acquired knowledgeof polymer chemistry and materials science as reflected in my technical expertise (please see my CV for additional details).

My thesis focuses on the preparation of microcellular thermoplastic polyurethane foam using CO2 and N2 blowing agents. During my Ph.D., I studied the extensive effect of process parameters like hardness, extrusion, and blowing agent. In addition, my first-year Ph.D. has synthesized thermoplastic polyurethanes. The porous thermoplastic polyurethane is widely used in various engineering applications. My interest is raisedworking on insitu foam 3D printing. Porous foam-based complex geometries have applications in high-tech industries like architecture, automotive, aircraft, energy, and biomedicine.

Thus, I believe I possess the right qualities and skills to contribute significantly to the research. As a researcher, I am committed to new challenges in any field of research and work with team members from diverse areas. I will be glad to provide any further information you might need to make your decision. I can also make myself available for the Ph/Skype/Zoom/Google meet interview at the time of your convenience.

I am enclosing my curriculum vitae (including the list of publications and contact information of my referees) for your reference.

Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks and regards

Raghavendrakumar R
