Your Responsibilities

  • Autonomous research and publication activities in the field of Digital Humanities, preferably in the area of natural language processing of historical data
  • Participation in existing research projects and development of new research projects in the field of Digital Humanities
  • Possibility to work on a habilitation project
  • Participation in the application process for third-party funded projects
  • Independent teaching of courses and conducting of examinations
  • Professional and organizational supervision of students of the Department of Digital Humanities
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures of the department
  • Participation in international disciplinary associations, working groups and infrastructure projects (e.g. TEI, DHd, DARIAH-EU, CLARIN-ERIC)

Your Profile

  • Completed doctorate/PhD in the area of Digital Humanities or any other Humanities discipline with certified capacities in digital methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English (at least one language at C1 and the other at B2)
  • Excellent technological and methodological skills from the field of Digital Humanities
  • Enjoyment of scientific work and working with students
  • Independent and goal-oriented working style
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
  • Experiences in natural language processing
  • Experiences in working with historical text corpora (desirable)
  • Experience with applying for/handling third-party funded projects (desirable)

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 69.060,59 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
