Your Responsibilities
- Independent and cooperative research in connection with the SFB project “Language between Redundancy and Deficiency” (https://sfb-redundancy-deficiency.uni-graz.at/) in the subproject “Philosophical implications of binding effects”, theme: concealed questions
- Independent planning and evaluation of scientific experiments
- Publication activities related to the research project
Your Profile
- Completed diploma or master’s degree in philosophy, linguistics, or a related field
- Expertise in the areas of semantics-pragmatics or the interface between syntax and semantics of natural languages
- Interest in formal aspects of the philosophy of language or interest in theoretical linguistics
- Experience and expertise in empirical methods in linguistics (preferred)
- Enjoyment of scientific work
- Independent working style and high level of initiative
- Excellent team and organizational skills

- Brief proposal of a possible topic for a dissertation, with demonstration of flexibility in adapting the topic
- Proof of completion of the course of study required in the call for applications
- Proof of the language skills, required in the curriculum, if the doctoral programme is not completed in the first language (please note that an admission is required). For a doctorate in German Studies (within the doctoral programme at the Faculty of Humanities) a language certificate in German on a C1 Level (CEFR C1) is required.

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.007,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
