Your Responsibilities

  • Autonomous musicological research and publication activities in the field of music and its aesthetics at the Faculty of Humanities
  • Collaboration in the conception and acquisition of (in particular interdisciplinary) third-party funded projects (in cooperation with members of the interdisciplinary faculty core research area Perception: Episteme, Aesthetics, Politics)
  • Possibility to work on a habilitation project
  • Initiation, development and maintenance of national and international networks, especially with the aim of building networks for the Music and its Aesthetics research area
  • Independent teaching of courses and examinations in BA and MA curricula
  • Supervision of students
  • Collaboration in organizational, communication and science-to-public activities as well as evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed doctorate/PhD in the area of musicology with a dissertation preferably in the fields of music aesthetics, music of the 19th to 21st centuries, new music, critical theory
  • Existing research work (publications, lectures, etc.), publications, lectures, etc. ), preferably with a focus on the above-mentioned fields of musicological research
  • Experience with topics in the field of music and its aesthetics
  • International experience
  • Relevant (online) teaching experience in own subject desirable ) teaching experience in own subject desirable
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
  • Knowledge of another foreign language desirable (preferably French)
  • Experience in or participation in the acquisition and processing of (national and international) third-party funded projects (desirable)
  • Willingness and enjoyment of interdisciplinary work
  • High personal motivation and academic curiosity
  • Independent and goal-oriented way of working
  • Ability to work in a team in academic and interdisciplinary contexts
  • Very good communication and organizational skills
  • Social skills and enjoyment of working with students

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 69.060,59 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
