Your Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with the Professor of Empirical Social Research
  • Design and implementation of a doctoral research project, preferably in the areas of Digital Societies or Environmental Sociology
  • Support in the preparation and dissemination of academic publications, both in the area of “science to science” and “science to public”
  • Participation in the planning and implementation of surveys within the framework of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP) and the Austrian Social Survey (SSÖ)
  • Contribution to the research team “International Comparative Sociology” through co-authored publications, the development of new research projects, and participation in ongoing projects at the Centre for Social Research
  • Participation in academic conferences as well as publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or other forms of knowledge dissemination (knowledge transfer)
  • Independent planning and delivery of courses at the Department of Sociology, primarily in the field of empirical social research
  • Participation in examinations and supervision of theses at the appropriate level, as well as involvement in organizational, administrative, and evaluation activities at the department
  • Ongoing professional development in teaching and research skills

Your Profile

  • Completed Master’s degree in Sociology
  • Excellent command of both English and German (spoken and written), suitable for academic work
  • Strong knowledge of quantitative social research and data analysis
  • Proficiency in statistical software for quantitative data analysis
  • Relevant research and publication experience
  • High level of commitment and motivation for academic work

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.007,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
