Your Responsibilities

  • Strengthening the research focus “Structured Light” through independent research in the field of applied structured light-matter interaction
  • Experimental and numerical investigation of light-matter interaction in complex environments
  • Participation in research tasks in the field of (structured) light, sound and matter (optics of nano and quantum materials; Banzer group)
  • Publication of research results in international journals
  • Presentation of research results at scientific conferences
  • Submission of applications for third-party funding
  • Supervision of students in the context of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and dissertations
  • Participation in teaching
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed doctoral/Ph.D. studies in experimental physics, biophysics or similar
  • Practical experience in concepts and experimental methods of nano-optics or related to structured light
  • Basic knowledge of experimental, theoretical and numerical methods in the field of light-matter interaction (desirable)
  • Very good written and spoken English (level B2 or better)
  • International publication activity in a current field of optics, preferably with relevance to structured light-matter interaction
  • Scientific curiosity and creativity, reliability
  • Didactic aptitude for independent teaching
  • Independent and autonomous way of working
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to work in an international environment

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 69.060,59 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
