The Institut Français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer or Ifremer is an oceanographic institution in Brest, Bretagne, France. A state-run and funded scientific organization, it is France’s public, national integrated marine science research institute. Ifremer conceives and operates tools for observation, experimentation and monitoring, and manage the oceanographic databases.
