We are pleased to announce a postdoctoral research position in the history of modern philosophy for 2 years (with possible extension).

Responsibilities

The selected applicant will carry out independent research in the context of the project KANTIAN AND POST-KANTIAN CONCEPTIONS OF COLLECTIVE POLITICAL AGENCY (1790-1830). The project is funded by the KU Leuven and led by Karin de Boer (KU Leuven). It will be carried out in cooperation with Manuel Tangorra (Diego Portales University, Chile). Applicants are invited to propose a project that falls within these parameters. The selected candidate is further expected to participate in the organization of common activities such as team meetings, talks, workshops, and conferences as well as to take up a modest teaching load. The working language is English.

Profile

  • An outstanding PhD thesis in the domain of the history of modern philosophy
  • Outstanding publications
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent knowledge of German
  • Outstanding hermeneutical and analytical skills
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Team player
  • Expertise on the history of modern political thought is a plus
