Position Details (Postdoc)

At the BEE Research Center, we investigate human decision-making and behavior in economic contexts through an interdisciplinary approach. Our research is grounded in a key insight: in complex environments, people often make decisions that are not optimal. Our team of Behavioral Engineers is driven by two core missions:
1. Understanding how people make decisions and behave in real-world settings.
2. Designing and testing interventions that help steer behavior toward better outcomes for individuals and society.
We pursue these goals by conducting open, high-quality interdisciplinary research in close collaboration with relevant societal stakeholders.

  • Mentoring junior researchers within BEE
  • Participating in collaborative initiatives in BEE (e.g., lab development, website maintenance)
  • Contributing to the preparation of new research proposals
  • Contributing to a limited set of educational tasks (thesis supervision and assessment, teaching a session)

The role requires a regular on-site presence (minimum three days per week) and participation in international meetings, primarily within Europe, approximately 3–4 times per year.

Profile

  • You have a PhD in a discipline that is relevant for the mission of BEE and the specific research plan (Psychological Science, Behavioral Economics, Business Economics, Social Science, or equivalent).

  • You have a proven strong theoretical interest in an area that is of relevance to BEE’s mission.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You are willing to take a co-supervisory role in BEEs in running projects.
  • You have a track record of international publications that are relevant in the context of BEE.
Optional
  • You have experience with international (EU) projects.
  • You have experience with collaborating in the context of research projects with non-academic partners.
  • You have experience guiding junior researchers.

Offer

We offer a 100% two-year research position starting Jan 15, 2026. You will be remunerated in accordance with the post-doc salary scales and your seniority.
