Within the Department of Computer Science, DistriNet is an internationally recognised research group focusing on secure, distributed and dependable software systems. The iDeas research team within DistriNet specialises in secure software engineering, vulnerability detection and prediction, visual analytics, and the responsible integration of AI in software development.

Responsibilities
The postdoctoral researcher will work on a multi-year applied research project on the safe and responsible integration of AI code assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, open-source LLMs) in professional software engineering workflows. The research focuses on analysing security and quality risks of AI-generated code, developing guardrails using static and dynamic analysis tools, improving prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation techniques, and ensuring traceability and observability of AI-generated code artefacts. The researcher will contribute to scientific publications, demonstrators, workshops and collaboration with industrial partners.
Profile
Applicants hold a PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or a related field, have a strong background in software engineering or security, solid programming skills, and experience with modern development workflows. Experience with AI-assisted software development and industry collaboration is considered a strong asset.
