Position Details (Master's)
Dalhousie’s three-year Master of Science in Periodontics degree program is designed to train competent periodontists to practise the full scope of periodontics and surgical implant dentistry using an evidence-basedapproach to treatment.
The program provides you with a variety of clinical experiences, emphasizing thorough patient evaluation and accuracy in diagnosis and treatment planning. You will be trained to manage patients who are in need of treatment for a variety of periodontal diseases and mucogingival defects, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), dental implant therapy, andconscious sedation. Thecompletion of a research thesis is also a requirement for this degree.
Graduates of this program are eligible to writefellowship exams for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontics and the American Board of Periodontology Diplomate Exams.
