The program benefits pharmacists who wish to improve their clinical pharmacy and patient consultation skills.

Every seven years, all Estonian higher education institutions must undergo external evaluation – institutional accreditation. The latest assessment took place in 2022. The assessment council of the Estonian Quality Agency for Education decided to accredit the University of Tartu for the next seven years (2023-2029).

The curriculum comprises the following courses:

  • Fundamentals of clinical pharmacy practice (15 ECTS)
  • Applied Therapeutics (35 ECTS)
  • Elective module (10 ECTS)
  • Master's Thesis (30 ECTS)

The online program is designed to provide an opportunity for professional development to pharmacists who work at either hospital- or community pharmacies.

The program's flexibility and major focus on e-learning make it especially well-suited to those who work – whether outside of Tartu or in another country.

Lecturers teaching the master's program in Clinical Pharmacy come from Estonia and other European countries, including Latvia, Germany, Iceland, Croatia, the Netherlands, and Malta.

Jana Lass, the program Director, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Tartu and serves as a clinical pharmacist at Tartu University Hospital, Estonia's largest healthcare provider.
