Position Details (Master's)
Today, Masters in engineering need theoretical and practical knowledge of design, regardless of whether they are designing small or large. Design is required in all areas of mechanical engineering, and contemporary digital design methods and tools make design an exciting experience.
The Mechanical Engineering - Digital Design degree delivered by the University of Turku educates professionals with foundations in design thinking and mindset, theoretical understanding, systematic methods and practical skills in designing products, services and systems, including human-centric problem solving approaches, to educate value creation leaders for smart products, services and systems.
Job options
The employment percentage of those holding an MSc (Tech.) degree is high in Finland. Depending on the personal study plan of a student, the Digital Design specialisation track provides competence for a wide variety of jobs. The possible positions are:
- design engineer,
- product development manager,
- team leader,
- structural specialist,
- industrial metrology expert,
- digital design specialist.
Career in research
Master's degree (Technology) provides eligibility for scientific postgraduate degree studies. Postgraduate degrees are doctoral and licentiate degrees. Degrees can be completed within theUniversity of Turku Graduate School, UTUGS.
