Presentation of the structure
The Translational Research in Medicine and Complexity Laboratory (TIMC) is a research unit (UMR 5525, CNRS and Université Grenoble Alpes), led by Alexandre Moreau-Gaudry. The laboratory conducts interdisciplinary research at the core of translational health research. It brings together more than 300 people, in close proximity and collaboration with Grenoble Alpes University Hospital (CHU Grenoble Alpes), and hosts expertise from many fields, illustrated by the participation of both researchers and clinicians.
Within TIMC, the GMCAO team (Computer-Assisted Medical Interventions), led by Sandrine Voros, INSERM Researcher, is a pioneer in the field of computer-assisted medical interventions. The team has strong expertise in medical robotics, developed over nearly 30 years, including the coordination of the CAMI LabEx and the creation of more than 10 start-ups.
The GMCAO team aims to establish, in the long term, a federative experimental platform dedicated to continuum/flexible robots for medical applications. This initiative began in 2019 with support from CNRS (INS2I) and the recruitment of a permanent researcher specializing in the field.
