We are currently seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow (PhD Candidate) in the field ofFinanceto join the team of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Müller atTUM Campus Heilbronn. This position is available immediately and is fixed for a term of 3 years, with the possibility of extension. As part of this role, candidates will have the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. In addition to research, the fellow will also take on teaching responsibilities.

Your tasks…

  • Conduct research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Müller, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: Asset Pricing, Asset Management, Behavioral Finance, Digital Finance, and Sustainable Finance
  • Contribute to the teaching activities at the Center for Digital Transformation at TUM Campus Heilbronn
  • Actively participate in the Doctoral Program of the TUM School of Management
  • Support and collaborate on third-party funded research projects

Your profile...

  • Completed (or close to completing) a Master’s degree or equivalent in Management/Business, Economics, Business Mathematics, or Information Systems.
  • Strong enthusiasm for conducting high-quality, innovative empirical research in Finance
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in pursuing a career in academia
  • Strong statistical training and quantitative research methods
  • Experience with programming languages such as R, Python, Stata, or Matlab is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a research team
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Superior academic track record
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
