The History and Theory of Arts study program from Kaunas University of Technologyis provided in the interdisciplinary research area and focuses on three fields: theory of architecture and urbanism, history and musicology. University graduates of various areas are admitted to doctoral studies taking into consideration their scientific input in their chosen topic.
History and Theory of Arts program‘s doctoral students are encouraged to apply various theoretical models and methodological tools of humanities, social and technological sciences besides the classical methods of the critics of arts using both internal scientific resources of Kaunas University of Technology and those of their international partners. Graduates of various university studies are accepted to the doctoral program with regard to their scientific experience within the selected topic.
Key facts
- The objective of the work of PhD students is to look at the identified problem or phenomenon from the complex perspective and propose innovative research methodology for discovery of the new knowledge or regularities contributing to the current scientific comprehension of the studied phenomenon.
Right to doctoral studies approved by the order No. V-1019 of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania of 8 June 2011.
