About us
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The LCEL focuses on the interdisciplinary field of European law and uses to full capacity its proximity to key EU institutions in Luxembourg. The new Interdisciplinary Centre (IC) will combine academic excellence and strategic research with impact. The IC will reflect in its strategic focus the European political agenda of a dual (digital and green) transition and topics related to European sovereignty.
Your role
Under the direction of the Centre's leadership, the successful candidate will:
- Enroll to the doctoral programme of the University and undertake research in the field of European law leading to the award of the PhD degree
- Participate and disseminate their work in conferences
- Teach at undergraduate level (maximum 20 teaching units per yer)
- Publish academic output in the form of articles in scholarly journals
- Contribute to the activities of the LCEL, including the organisation of conferences, workshops and other outreach activities
Your profile
The successful candidate will have:
- A Master's Degree
- An outstanding academic record
- The willingness and ability to work as part of a scholarly team
- The linguistic skills to work in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French (good understanding of a third language will be considered an advantage)
We are looking for outstanding candidates in any area of European law. Currently, the priority areas of LCEL are EU constitutional law, external relations including defence, environmental law, digital regulation, and financial regulation.
