About CBS
The Department of Chemical & Biochemical Sciences – Green Process Engineering (CBS) is a component of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to establish a distinctive, internationally recognized research and education program to address UM6P’s challenges in research and teaching, particularly in green and sustainable chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical/bioconversion/thermal reactions, etc.
Research within CBS is organized around several major areas aimed at addressing important industrial questions, from chemical and biochemical transformations to the validation of concepts and processes. CBS projects seek to develop a deep understanding of the molecular mechanisms of all transformations in order to propose original new alternatives in terms of efficiency and sustainability.
The CBS department operates on the principle of partnerships with Moroccan and international universities and adopts joint-degree and jointly labeled laboratory approaches.
