Position Details (Master's)
Courses in the specialisation will provide you with a solid background in human molecular biology and animal models. You will apply this knowledge in developing clinically-oriented research questions. Thanks to extensive collaboration between the Faculty of Science and Radboudumc, you become familiar with both perspectives.
The specialisation starts off with three main topics:Translational Genomics, Molecular Therapeutics,andStem Cell Biology.Once you have completed these, you can follow your own tracks to prepare for your internship of choice.
Future career opportunities
After graduation, you can take up positions as researchers at universities, hospitals, and medical and pharmaceutical companies. You can also apply your academic background to societal issues, taking positions as supervisors of clinical trials, consultants, policy officers, communications officers and teachers.Possible occupations include:
- Researcher in a hospital or a university
- Researcher in a company
- Supervisor of clinical trials
- Health or food consultant or policy officer
- Communications officer at a hospital or a governmental organisation

The Master’s specialisation in Human Biology has a course load of 120 credits (two years) andfocuses on understanding the biological processes that underlie human health and disease, combining coursework with extensive research training.

You will write a review article and develop a research proposal to enhance your analytical and scientific writing abilities.
Year 2
You will complete two research internships (or one extended internship) to gain practical experience in academic, medical, or industrial research environments. During these internships, you will conduct independent research on topics related to human biology, such as genetics, physiology, and disease mechanisms.
