Qualifications: BChD MChD (Comm Dent) PhDI am currently an Associate Professor at the School of Human Sciences, University of Western Australia and Co-Director - International Research Collaborative - Oral Health and Equity. I have an undergraduate degree in dentistry (1988) and a Masters degree in Community Dentistry (1995) from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, and a PhD (2016) in Dental Public Health from the University of Western Australia. I have been involved in research supervision as well as teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate students for more than 25 years. I a hold a Fellowship of the International College of Dentists (FICD), and Membership of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the Speciality of Dental Public Health (MRACDS (DPH).Research Fellow (UWA), Senior Lecturer (University of Otago, New Zealand).I am actively involved in research and have published widely. Main research interests include dental epidemiology, digital health, rural and remote dental health, oral health inequalities, oral health policy and strategy, accessibility, dental education and the use of Geographic Information Systems in health service planning and management. I supervise several PhD, Masters, and Honours students. I have been teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level in various Science and Dentistry units. I initiated, developed and am the course coordinator of the Masters of Dental Public and Primary Health course at UWA.
