Post-doc (2 years) in Organic Electronics at Umeå University, Sweden
Position Details (Postdoc)
We invite applications for a two-year post-doc position in the field of Organic Electronics, with the focus being on the development of a novel light source, a light-emitting electrochemical cell (LEC). LECs are currently attracting increasing interest from both academia and industry since they: (i) can deliver bright and easily patterned light emission at low voltage; (ii) can be thin, lightweight and flexible; (iii) can be fabricated in its entirety by cost- and energy-efficient printing; (iv) can be highly sustainable (free from toxic and rare compounds and potentially recyclable); (v) exhibit a unique operational mode in that a p-n junction doping structure forms in situ during the initial device operation.
The selected post-doc will collaborate with a larger team, with the shared goal of developing fully printed white-emitting LECs for real-world applications. The primary task of the selected post-doc is to develop the electroluminescent active material for efficient emission and compatibility with scalable printing fabrication. The research will be performed at the “The Organic Photonics and Electronics Group” (www.opeg-umu.com) atUmeå University, Sweden, in close collaboration with international academic groups and industrial actors.
The applicant must have completed aPhD degree ina relevant field at the time of employment. The applicant is further expected to have experiencewith solution-processible emitters and with the fabrication and analysis of light-emission devices, such asOLEDs or LECs.
Applications are accepted until the deadline on February 28th 2026. The starting date is April 1st 2026 or by agreement.
