Sport and Exercise Psychology

The Sport and Exercise Psychology degree from Loughborough University moves beyond the fundamentals of psychological science by focusing on significant areas in the applied contexts of sport and exercise while providing a critical understanding of sport and exercise psychology research and practice.

Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) through Accreditation Through Partnership, the program is designed and delivered with a view to preparing students for practitioner career pathways or doctoral research in sport and exercise psychology and sport and exercise science, with a focus on psychology.

Your future career

Graduates from this course have gone on to careers such as: sport and exercise psychologist, sport and exercise scientist, lecturer in sport and exercise psychology, and sport coach or exercise instructor/trainer. Other students have progressed to doctoral research in the field of sport and exercise psychology.

Graduates from the School have gone on to pursue roles in sport and exercise psychology within organisations such as the British Psychological Society, Brighton and Hove Albion FC, GiveSurf, Leicester Tigers, and the Ministry of Defence. Many graduates undertake Stage 2 training to become Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) accredited Sport and Exercise Psychology practitioners.
