The Automotive Engineering program from Loughborough University will build on your existing engineering skills and enhance your understanding of the latest automotive technologies, including the development of the next generation of vehicles that feature new hardware, software, autonomy and electrification. Practical activities are integral to our course, for example, by spending time at HORIBA MIRA proving ground you'll learn how to collect and analyse vehicle handling, off-road dynamics, noise measurement, braking performance and wet weather driving data.

We have a strong and growing research program with world-class activities and facilities. Our research topics include the development of new design methodologies for hybrid powertrains, vehicle electrification and autonomy, virtual vehicle integration and development and vehicle aerodynamics simulation and testing. In your project modules, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to these research areas.
