What you'll study
You’ll begin this Double LLM with a compulsory four-day induction period in Paris in January, so you feel well-prepared to start of the program.
You’ll have a flexible range of modules on international business law taught by Queen Mary at theUniversity of London Institute in Paris (ULIP)campus.
At the start of the second semester in September, you’ll join theUniversité Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne’sinduction and select your modules for that semester. You’ll follow the French and European Law stream of theSorbonne’s LLMand take French as a Foreign Language and Legal French classes to improve your French language writing and legal research skills. You will also have opportunities to visit international legal institutions such as the European Court of Human Rights, the European Commission and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
With the Sorbonne’s supervision and the support of both institutions, you’ll secure a three-month internship before your third semester. The internship is generally in-house or with a law firm, though other legal contexts are also recognised. Students generally take their internships in France but internships conducted in French elsewhere in Europe may be acceptable.

As this is a new Sorbonne - Queen Mary Double LLM program at Queen Mary University of London , our first cohort have yet to graduate. However, CCLS graduates from our Paris LLM have gone on to work for firms such as LPA-CGR Avocats, Paris or act as in-house counsel in companies such as HSBC and Sanofi. Others now act as consultants to the European Commission and OECD.
