Bishnu Sarker

Bishnu Sarker is an Assistant Professor at Meharry Medical College, where he leads a research program at the intersection of biomaterials, nanotechnology, and cancer therapeutics. His work focuses on designing smart drug delivery systems, engineering nanoparticles for targeted therapy, and modulating the tumor microenvironment to improve treatment efficacy. He develops polymeric and hybrid nanocarriers to enhance delivery precision, therapeutic response, and safety. Sarker’s lab integrates materials design, translational pharmacology, and in vitro/in vivo models to address challenges in oncology. He collaborates across disciplines to advance next-generation cancer nanomedicines and mentor trainees in biomedical innovation and translational research.
