Her research examines evolutionary and reproductive biology in amphibians and reptiles, integrating field studies with genomic and transcriptomic approaches. She has published on spermatogenesis dynamics, seasonal testis remodeling, and hormone signaling, including work on tissue-resident macrophages in testes and on androgen regulation of reproductive tissues. Cohen mentors undergraduate researchers and contributes to the RISEbio Scholars Learning Community. She is active in institutional animal care and use oversight and is recognized by students for engaging, research-centered teaching that connects molecular mechanisms to organismal biology and evolution.
