Eric S. Klein is an Associate Professor of Geological Sciences at the University of Alaska Anchorage. His research focuses on glacier and snow hydrology, water resources in cold regions, and stable isotope geochemistry to trace water movement and climate signals. He investigates how changing cryosphere dynamics affect streamflow, ecosystems, and communities across Alaska. Klein teaches courses in geology and hydrology, mentors student researchers, and leads field-based projects that integrate observations, sampling, and analytical modeling. Through collaborations across the North, he advances understanding of Arctic and sub-Arctic water systems and communicates science that supports resource management and resilience.
