Tara Hudiburg

Tara Hudiburg is a Professor in the Department of Forest, Rangeland and Fire Sciences at the University of Idaho and a leader in the FIERCE (FIRE Initiative in Research and Education) program. Her research examines how forests respond to climate change, wildfire, and management, with a focus on carbon cycling, greenhouse gas emissions, and ecosystem services. She integrates field measurements, remote sensing, and process-based modeling to inform land management and climate mitigation strategies across the western United States. Hudiburg leads interdisciplinary teams, collaborates with agencies and stakeholders, and mentors students in ecosystem science, carbon dynamics, and climate adaptation.
