Industrial-Organizational Psychology
Position Details (PhD Program)
Industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology is among the fastest growing professions in the United States (U.S. Department of Labor), in part because of the enormous value I-O psychologists can bring to organizations. UTulsa’s I-O psychology master’s and doctoral degree programs train students to apply scientific psychological principles to help increase organizational effectiveness and work-life quality. Topics of study include personnel testing and selection, training, performance appraisal, organizational development, job attitudes, work motivation, teams, occupational health psychology, and an internship requirement. Researchprojects use both quantitative and qualitative, traditional and novel methodologies (e.g., text mining, network models, multilevel modeling) and big data approaches to bridge the science-practice gap.
