Tianquan Lian is a Professor of Chemistry at Emory University, where he leads the Lian Lab in the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on ultrafast laser spectroscopy to investigate charge carrier and energy transfer dynamics in nanoscale and interfacial systems. Lian’s group studies semiconductor nanocrystals, metal nanostructures, and molecule–semiconductor interfaces to understand and control processes relevant to solar energy conversion, photocatalysis, and electrocatalysis. By elucidating fundamental mechanisms at femtosecond to nanosecond timescales, his work advances strategies for efficient light harvesting and chemical transformations. He is part of Emory’s Physical Chemistry research area and collaborates across materials and energy science.
