Catherine Clarke

Catherine F. Clarke is a Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research centers on the biochemistry and genetics of coenzyme Q (ubiquinone) biosynthesis and its roles in cellular respiration, redox homeostasis, and human disease. The Clarke lab investigates mitochondrial biogenesis, lipid metabolism, and regulatory pathways that control quinone production and function. Her group employs genetic, biochemical, and cell biological approaches to define enzymes and intermediates in the coenzyme Q pathway, advancing understanding of mitochondrial disorders and aging.
